Thu, September 28, 2006 - 12:17 AMi lived here my whole life, I don't ever wanna move, while it is over priced my roommate who's been everywhere says beleive me you don't wanna move, i'd only move to LA if i could get a waaaaay cheep apartment by myself and not have to have a roommate and find a stable job, otherwise i'll sleep behind the iorn curtin where i know i'm safe even in the ghetto areas! LOL At least we have Green trees and nice beaches, but the people ... meh not so much. I just hate how everyone here is fake and all about making a good impression and willing to fake it up a notch in order to do so! Oh well that's my rant. -

We pay a helluva a lot of money to live in a place that other people come to for vacation or move from some miserable hot/cold/dry/humid place just to live cheek-to-jowl with their neighbors. We all complain, but we can't imagine leaving!
It's NICE here. And none of us fit the soccer Mom talking on the cell phone driving a mini van of kids watching video, now do we?
So, what are we gonna talk about? -

Wed, October 24, 2007 - 6:07 PMIf you really want to meet people in the OC that rock, go to groups.yahoo.com/group/ocburners/. And you do not have into the Burning Man scene but you will find people are some of the most down to earth and very friendly people that you can meet in the OC. And that what it counts
My real friends are in this community. The people that I trust and tell my deep, dark secrets to. People that have showed real friendship in the most dire of times. People that want give hugs to and want to make you feel good and accepted. Our community has a OC feel to it but that is why we are called OC Burners. People in San Diego have their community and San Diego is a different community structure than the OC. I have lots of deep personal connections with San Diego county and have lots of friends in San Diego but I cannot visit that often but I can see friends in the OC much more often. While I dream to live to San Diego, I cannot, OC is my home and my job will keepi in the OC for long-term future.
The OC has lots of good social communities but you need do some real research. They are out of there. Believe me but you have to lots of research.

I've been to every major city in the US and then some.
When it comes down to it, I love the city more.. and
I don't mean LA.. I mean a real city like NY or Chicago.
A city that never rolls up the streets for the night.
But I would have to agree, in OC most people only care about
image. OC does have a lot to offer, and yes it's my home.
Over all, I would say the OC has become "Planet look at me".

We have a great weather ...and that is 200 days of sun... 100 days iof simi overcast...25 days of Winds... 25 days of cold and 15 days of rain !
Plus we have Disneyland and Knotts as well as Angel Stadium and lets not forget the Honda Center ...And if you are still board you can always got to the BEACH !
Im a native californian borned in Lynwood,Ca. and moved to the OC in 1972 ... It has changed but it is still the best place for humans to live in on earth ! -

Wed, October 24, 2007 - 5:55 PMYeah, but as lifelong resident on the OC, it is too expensive. I love OC but the LBC is much cheaper than OC and it still very close to the OC. So if you want to save few bucks move to the LBC and hang in the OC.

Fri, December 21, 2007 - 11:21 AMweird: a total trip. dissconnected, sanitary, mostly safe. Some salt of the earth people. Others who don't look you in the eye when you pass, and are hidden behind so much make up and silicone (oh what I wouldn't give to see an actual beauty-shining from the inside). OC is where I grew up, couldn't wait to leave, but am magnatized to for the moment. I have networked quite a cool # of people over about 20 years. Now I work between a homeless recource center in Santa Ana, and a commercial art store in a ritzier nieghborhood, and it is so strange to see the wide gap in the economic status. With the image from the TV most people don't think of homelessness as a problem in OC, but theres a cold little family not to far from your door... We have enough resource and $ to take care of each other, and I think we should...
