i got my tattoo at outer limits and they are pretty professional, though they were quite unprofessional about keeping their appointment for me (i waited three hours after my time until they had someone ready for me). Then again, they lowered their price significantly for me because of it. Prices = pretty reasonable, and quality is pretty good too. It really depends on who you get to do the job for you. They're really friendly about sitting down with you and working out designs.

Wait, sorry, you're there for piercings! I have no idea how their piercing section is like :(

has anyone heard of Tommy T's in Huntington Beach?

I read some really good reviews on them on the internet, and then also, I called and spoke with Tommy, he was SUPEr knowledgeable, and also told me about all the types of special metal they use.

it sounded great, but I was wondering if anyone had personal experience. It's a lot closer to me too!

Hey.. The best place by far in Orange County is Tommy T's Body Piercing. I tried Outer Limits and found out that the Piercer there is not that good. They also lied to me over the phone and told me they had Orange County's best jewelry selection in orange county. Sheeeeez Tommy T's had 10 times as much Jewelry. Bogus statement to say the least. I drove down to Huntington Beach and went to Tommy T's. Tommy is the most knowledgeable person I have ever met when it comes to Body Piercing. He explained the metals and what alloys were in each piece of Jewelry. He also knew exactly why my piercings were migrating out so quickly. I had my jewelry changed and now my piercings are doing great. No other shop I talked to came even close to really helping me. Tommy took the time to check out my piercing even though they were done by another shop. I won't mention the idiot that pierced me in Costa mesa but it rhymes with barsmella. Anyways Tommy T's Body Piercing is the best place in Southern California. I swear by them..

have you tried CM Hurt up in Garden Grove on Brookhurst just south of Garden Grove Blvd.? She's a trained RN as well as body mod expert -- her studio is where I've seen AND had piercings done... I'd go to her first for any body mod I'd want done -- to me or to anyone else...

        www.cmhurt.com

        just my NSHO... ::grin::

I think I've been to Tommy T's -- didn't he used to have his studio associated with Condom Revolution, then move out? or am I thinking of someone else? this was a while ago, though...

replying to myself here -- seems I'd already touted Ms. Cynthia LAST YEAR!!! LOL!

          sorry about the repeat info...

still, if Brad feels he got listened to and had his questions answered to his satisfaction and wants to share his positive experience(s) with Tommy T's, that's a good thing! it's hard to get good info as well as good treatment -- to be seen as a reasonable human wanting good info to make a reasoned decision... too many scammers & charlatans abound!

          you go, Brad!

LOL... I really start liking you. But you should at least befriend Mukk. Adding a picture or two and some fake personal info will make your ad more effective.

                  > It can get boring being a teacher and married and all that.

I agree, I get bored easily. My wife likes the idea but my girlfriend does not approve it. I have asked them to talk and decide whether I can or not. My students all voted for a Prince Albert. I would go for some scarification though because it's annoying to have metal on you if you travel often and some tattoos get very hot if you take a MRI (I do it often).
If I decide, would you be able to get me a discount? With your affiliation to that shop it shouldn't be hard :-)
                  Or should I aks Mukk?

im sorry i have to step in here and say something. as for jewlery yes tommy-ts has a good selection. however some of his stuff is very over priced as for piercings. i myself was given wrong information from him about a surface piercing that same night while i was waiting to be pierced with the wrong type of jewlery i watched him lose a ball to a piece of jewlery in some poor girls ear and he had some one from next door at some fast food place try to get it out. i know Mrs Cynthia at CM HURT i also know steve joyner from outer limits and ron garza from outer limits. your best bet to find a piercing shop insted of liestening to every onesz biassed opinion it to go to www.safepiercing.org there you will find a list of piercing places that are safe and healthy.

I personally know Tommy T. I have known him for 20 years. He is passionate about doing a great job in the body piercing industry. It just so happens that I saw the video of this idiot chick and her friends, when they were in Tommy T's, getting her Traques pierced. She and her friends were stoned out of there heads and Tommy tried very hard to keep them calm and under control. He asked the friends several time to please stop interacting with the girl he was peircing. If it were me, I would have thrown them out but Tommy is to customer oriented and he tried to be as polite as possible. You are a jerk for trying to lie about what happened and if anyone wants to know the truth well the truth is on the tape. By the way that lady next store is a nurse practitioner. You know almost as good as a doctor. I have been in the medical industry for 15 years. I know the real thing when I see it. . Tommy T’s is the best. Shane you are out of your league here. Tommy T's Body Piercing has been given the highest rating by the Orange County health dept. If you really want to know all you have to do is call Bri Dewey at the Orange County Health Dept. and ask yourself. I tried Outer limits about 5 years ago and the piercer there didn't even know what I was asking for. I love to watch people try to slander others when the truth is they are just jealous. I love you Tommy!! Your shop is the best!!

Tommy T's is the sweat shop of piercing.

I have been around many extremely experienced piercers (i.e. Steve Joyner, Fakir Musafar, and Ms. Cynthia), and I have somewhat of a broad view of the piercing culture. In short, I know what the fuck I'm talking about. I myself have had numerous piercings by numerous individuals and I know the standards at which a piercing shop should hold itself. To be completely honest, Tommy T's exhibits none of these standards. Tommy T's will pierce almost anybody as long as they have cash in hand.

Of course, no individual has the right to scorn at any particular piercing shop unless having first hand experience and I have had several experiences with Tommy T's. Every time I've stepped into Tommy T's to purchase jewelry, I'm given the wrong gauge. True, this shop carries a wide variety of jewelry and if your mission is to buy new pieces, then this is a good place to go. However, if you are going to go here to get a piercing, then please find another shop. There are plenty of shops that are way more professional and way more qualified to pierce. Tommy T's will simply push a needle through your skin.

Also, if you simply walk into any OC piercing shop and mention the words "Tommy T's" then you'll find out exactly why I have such negative things to say. It may be presumptuous of me to make such a bold statement, however, from years of experience, not once have I ever heard a positive comment come out of any piercer's mouth about this establishment. I will not name names simply due to the fact that I respect those in the piercing profession and it is not my place to speak on their behalf, however, I urge you to take my offer and speak to any well established piercing shop yourself and try to prove me wrong.

I must admit that I've had a piercing by Tommy T's. It was a tragus piercing and it was my first. At that time I was young and not very involved in the piercing world however, I will with all honestly say that my tragus did not fully heal for a good 6 months. I am one of those individuals who are very meticulous in regards to cleaning and maintaining their piercings. After Tommy was through piercing my tragus he simply told me to wash it and pushed that Dr. Piercing crap on me like a car salesman.

If you look at Brad, the individual who posted one of the comments above and read his blog, you'll see that he states that Tommy pierced him at the ripe old age of 14. Any truly professional piercing shop won't touch a kid his age. Common sense should tell you that somebody at 14 years old probably doesn't know how to take care of their piercing and that it's irresponsible for a shop to pierce somebody at such a young age.

Lastly, IT SEEMS EXTREMELY CONVENIENT THAT THREE OF THE INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE GIVING SUCH HIGH PRAISES TO TOMMY T'S JUST STARTED THEIR ACCOUNTS WITHIN THE LAST FEW WEEKS. STRANGE MUCH?

Do your research. Be smart. In the end it's your body and you should do what's best for it. Piercing isn't simply going in and getting metal shoved through your body, it's so much more. Allow yourself to enjoy the experience at a good shop because it's something that you'll hold for the rest of your life.

yung dung or whoever you are. All I ever hear is praise from people about Tommy T's Body Piercing. You must work at another shop or something like that. Your jealousy is transparent. Don't be mad cuz Tommy T's is on top in the industry. Maybe someday you can be on top of something. Like maybe the toothpik salesman of the year. Evertime I go to Tommy T's they are piercing a nurse or doctor or something like that. All the medical people go to his shop because they know they are the best. Maybe all the losers go to your shop because they like your bad attitude.

Brad, if Tommy T's is such a reputable shop, then why the constant need to defend it? Shouldn't the shops work speak highly enough of it's quality? Anyway, in response to your misguided claim that I work for another shop, I'm sad to say that I unfortunately am not one of the lucky individuals who gets to pierce others. Quite the contrary, I write loans for B of A at one of their corporate offices in Brea. I'm a monkey in a suit and tie, but I make bank so it's worth the corporate bullshit.

If people want to go to Tommy T's then that's fine. Like I said previously, it's ultimately their decision. Your post really doesn't phase me because I know that if anybody walked into a reputable piercing shop and asked about Tommy T's, they'd get pretty much the same speech as I gave in the post above.

You can continue to promote your shop and you have every right to do so, however, you're not exactly creating a positive representation by talking shit about me and with such ridiculously horrific grammar. Think about it.

Not that I am anti gay but that sounds a bit discriminatory. Oh by the way, you think you can help me get a loan?

A little help and a short history

I have to put my 2 cents in here. I have been around the body piercing industry in OC since the 1990’s. I have a little knowledge about how it started and who is who. Just sounds like you guys are talking out of the sides of your neck without any knowledge of what the hell you are talking about. I am in the computer business now, although I still pierce from time to time. Craig Rhodes brought Body Piercing to Orange County back in 1991. At that time there were no shops doing piercing. Craig would travel between Zac Attac and Ipso Facto and pierce people in front of the stores out of a chair. I worked at Zac Attac at the time and watched him pierce people in front of the store. Not sanitary, but that is how it started. Kari Barba didn’t even do piercing at that time. Tommy T was the owner of Zac Attac and that is how he got involved in Piercing. During the 90’s many people pierced at Zac Attac. A guy named Will (died in a house fire) pierced there for many years and so did Shane (owner of Leopard Lounge), Steve Hoelsher, Hop Sing and even Cat. Yea Cat got fired for taking needles home and trying to re-sterilize them and pierce people at home (I was the manger of the store she worked at). What a loser!! Since then Cat just can’t seem to stay out of jail. Shane ended up opening his own store called Leopard Lounge which subsequently went out of business after he died of an overdose on vikadin. Tim (Shane’s employee) tried to open a shop up and lasted about a year. Hop Sing got banned, (although he is back in Socal) after he burglarized Electric Chair and stole all their body piercing jewelry. Steve Hoelsher is now going to school and has abandoned the body piercing industry. Oh, and Fakir would be a millionaire if he didn’t bail out on Jim and stuck with the business. Not an OC thing, but I just had to add that. Back then there were only 2 places doing piercing: one was The Guantlet and the other was Red Devil in Hollywood. The chick that pierced at Red devil was a heroin addict and had the shakiest hands on earth. Anyways Tommy T opened up Orange County’s first Body Piercing Studio. I know because I was there. Not long after that Steve and Hop Sing started piercing at Zac Attac. In 1995, Hop Sing and Steve went over to Electric chair and started piercing there. Hop Sing moved up North to avoid the heat and is now piercing at a shop in Socal that I won’t mention the name. I would hate to expose him, there are people that don’t want to see him breathing. Anyways, Kari has a good shop, but none of her piercers are even from the OC scene. Kari’s shop is run professionally, but when it comes to piercers Kari’s shop doesn’t compare to Tommy T’s. Tommy is the best and most experienced piercer in Orange County. There is no doubt about it. He has the track record and the history that others can only talk about. I don’t really care what people think I am just saying the facts. Too many bullshit artists here that don’t know what the hell they are talking about. I don’t care what shop people go to to get their piercings. Kari has a good shop and at least she uses the right quality jewelry. She should teach her employees how to be professional and quit talking shit on places like Tommy T’s because the imported piercers don’t know what they are talking about. The body piercing industry in Socal has gone down hill with all these shops using cheap, externally threaded jewelry that causes irritation and rejection. I think Kari’s and Tommy T’s are the only 2 shops that pierce with Implant Grade Body Jewelry. Now you have these shops in Newport and Garden Grove using low quality jewelry that they know will cause problems, but they don’t care. All they care about is undercutting the price and getting the business. What a shame. Back in the 90’s there was a good group of Tattoo artists in Orange County. Seems like all the good ones moved up to LA and left OC with the bottom of the barrel. What is it going to take to get the percing and Tattoo industry together and quit bickering like a bunch of babies. Someday maybe everybody will just grow up and try to make OC a reputable place to get your artwork. . Maybe Not!!! It is what is is!! I don’t talk about knowing people or hanging out with whoever because I was there. All the rest of you are full of hearsay. Get it together people or OC is always going to be regulated to the back seat of the body art industry. Sometimes I wonder if it was a good idea to leave the Body Piercing industry and go with computers. And then I realize I made the right decision. This industry is just a bunch of childish idiots like it has always been.
